tuesday morning sketches my grafico and die cuts r us

happy wednesday!
this is for 3 challenges.
this week over at TMS melissa has designed another really fun sketch to work with plus teaming up with mygrafico for a double chance at winning some digis :)
and over at DCRU the challenge is to use at least 2 of the products claudia  sells in their store. well i just ordered and received yesterday my very first set of Just Right Stampers from claudia over at DCRU.. great prices AND fast service! thank you claudia :) . oh my i love these stamps!
and i used my cuttlebug and an embossing folder  plus my cricut expression and  cartridges.
so yep i did another spider theme.  i hate spiders but have been on some sort of obsession with them for my halloween cards . thank goodness i dont post every card i make on here we'd having spiders crawling out the screen probably :)
so what i did was use my cuttlebug and spiderweb embossing folder on the black paper then sanded.
i used my cricut and doodlecharms  (spiders)  cartridge
extras include colorbox fluid chalk pad (blackbird and pumpkin spice) and recollections "pearls" and acrylic paint for dots and eyes.
paper is recollections also. so i used 4 products from the DCRu store :)
thats it sooooo easy . thanks for stopping by :) be sure to go join in over at TMS and DCRU :)

Crafty Creations Challenges with pic of sketch added

happy wednesday :)  this week im hosting CCC and Leah from PaperBlooms is my sponsor. She makes beautiful crocheted blooms and butterflies be sure to stop on by and say hi to her   she's just the sweetest, and stop on by CCC and check out the awesome cards made by the rest of the DT  and  to see the gorgeous crocheted goodies leah  made up special for our card of the week.
i love fall so i decided to go with a leaves/fall theme.  i designed the sketch myself... what do ya think? :)  it isnt a requirement to follow the sketch but it would be fun to see the projects you make using it :)
for my card i used my cricut  george( circles and squares)   , doodlecharms (basket, leaves)and stretch your imagination (autumn) cartridges. i added acrylic paint (dots) and used colorbox fluid chalk pads (chestnut roan, yellow ochre, pumpkin spice)
paper is recollections. thank you so much for stopping by   your comments are always welcome :)  have a fun day! shelly

ok ive added a drawing of the sketch that i came up with. when i do my own sketches i dont draw them out i just get an idea and cut my paper and adhere it to my cardbase , just a go with the flow feel to it ... but ive received emails asking for a drawn out version . so here it is  sorry for its sloppiness :)

PaperBlooms

happy wednesday  :) yay yay  its time for another PB challenge:) this week leah made us a sketch to follow.. oh i so love the challenge of playing with someone elses' design.  PLUS the beautiful crocheted flowers are made by her so it makes this an extra special card .  along with those  i used my cricut and jasmine cartridge for the corners, cuttlebug for the butterfly  and took a 3X3 square, punched it on alll 4 sides with a MS punch  then adhered the flowers. adding a pearl to its center. i added gold beads to the corerns of the square and butterfly.  papers are dcwv i also used a bit of colorbox fluid chalk pad for inking.  thank youso much for spending some time with me hope you come back soon :) have a fun crafty day :) shelly

crafty creations challenges

happy wednesday!  its crafty creations day again...this time our theme is windows. be sure to hop on over to CCC and see the projects the rest of the DT did using this theme and then join on in our crafty fun :)
i won this stamp quite awhile ago and although i love it i dont use it often  im not a good stamper so i tend to stick to what i do better  which is utilizing my cricut to the max!
but never gonna get better at anything if you dont at least try right...so....i stamped the main stamp cut it out and adhered it to my cardstock  then stamped the curtains again and cut out then pop dotted over the original  stamped image. i stamped some flowers and birds at the windows trying to give the effect they were outside, the kittys were cut from my cricut and zoobaloo cartridge. the poor baby kitty... i dont know what i did to its eyes but man oh man it looks buzzed up on something doesnt it.. lol guess im about as good with acrylic paint as i am stamping ;) i'll give this to my daughter as she'll get a huge chuckle out of  zany eyed kitty.
i also used my jasmine cartridge for the corners.  and martha stewart punch for those sweet itty bitty butterflies.  gorgeous papers are memorybox. i added some kaiser kraft pearls (noses) and used colorbox fluid chalk pad for some coloring. thanks so much for looking and commenting i appreciate the feedback :)
oh and tune in next wednesday when yours truly will be hosting CCC :)  fun fun!!
thank you for taking the time with me :) hope you come back soon :) have a super day :) shelly

bitten by the bug dragonfly challenge

happy monday! ready for some BBTB inspiration hope im helpful there for ya.. but if you want your sockies kocked off   be sure to go on over to the BBTB blog  when youre done here and check out the awesome creations by the other DT ladies then pick up your camp out cart and create a beautiful dragonfly card along with us :)    the dragonfly needs to be blue and some use of polk dot paper also is in this recipe.   at the end of the month (27th)  were doing another blog hop so for everyone who joins in each week i'll add your name twice to my contest. ( ill be sure to check for the entire month of september on the BBTB blog)

for this card i used the dragonflies from camp out, cutting out the extra wing layer in vellum attached them then added some bluish stickles.i put some little pop dots under thier bodies and stuck them where they landed.  the iris is a SU stamp i used prismas and mineral spirits ( sorry for all you that like this technique..   but  really  i prefer watercolor or better yet my colorbox fluid chalk pads) i  stamped this then stamped again and cut out just the flower adhered with a pop dot underneath then added aileens paper glaze.
i also used my jasmine cart for the corners on the iris panel. the larger corners are sizzix. and inked some with colorbox fluid chalkpads.
the wonderful quote is computer generated and  is from ralph waldo emmerson.
thanks so much for looking :) have a fantastic day :) shelly

SweetHeart get sketchyand tuesday morning sketches

happy sunday :)
this card is for 2 challenges
1) GS: the sketch and they included a bonus   no patterned paper.. well i did emboss patterns onto my paper..but they started out as plain cardstock so i think this counts toward the bonus :)
AND
2) melissa over at TMS had a challenge using ribbon. im not a big ribbon fan ok wait i sort of am  just not so much on my cards i see them on others and think wow thats sharp i try it and nope i always end up removing it  ( i do love lace though ) ..  so this part was sort of difficult i think i blew the challenge really but  i entered 2 cards  using the same ribbon through botton hole.. yeah i know  im shaking my head in shame at myself  sorry melissa :)
for this i used my cricut and george cartridge for the hearts ran them thru my cuttlebug  using swiss dots folder.
added the buttons and ribbon. the beautifully sweet crocheted butterflies were handmade my my design team leader leah from paperblooms.theres a link to her etsy shop on my side bar

happily ever after

happy thursday:) i happened upon a  new challenge blog  cooking it up with kate today being her debut. so i thought id play along . so good luck to her on her adventure :)
the first challenge is a 1~2~3 recipe theme..
1 image
2 different shapes
and 3 paper embellies
so my image is the heart . the swirly part is actually "supposed" to layer over the base image creating one heart  but i like the effectivness of the swirl  layer embracing the base , thus creating 2 hearts one protecting the other.   yeah yeah i know im pathetically cheesy arent i ;)
my 2 paper shapes are the circle and the rectangle panel
and the 3 paper embellies are the swirl on the panel, the corners and the word love.
i used my cricut and indie art (heart) jasmine (corners) and home decor (swirl on panel and love)  cartridges.
i used colorbox fluid chalk and the paper  is dcwv  once upon a time.
thanks so much for hanging with me a bit and i always appreciate the comments :)  have a great rest of day :) shelly

1 card 3 challenges

happy thursday
this was made for 3 different challenges
1) aspoonfullofsugar whos theme is autumn
2) Diecutsrus whos theme is any medium. i used acrylic paint(dots) colorbox fluid chalk (  the colors on the  scarecrow plus shading on everything else)
3) inspirationalcardskeches for the sketch altho the design is a little lost behind the scarecrow and pumpkins
(but if you look real hard you'll see it)
for this i used my cricut and pooh ad friends (pumpkins) paperdolls (corn stalks) and jasmine (corners) cartridges. the scarecrow is a sizzix  emboss folder i just cut him out after embossing.  the bg papers are k&co
thanks so much for taking a few minutes here and i appreciate all your comments :)have a great rest of day shelly

pearls swirls and faking it

oh my that title sounds like im describing a woman doesnt it! lol
not me of course cuz i prefer diamonds, if i swirled id hurl cuz i get motion sickness very easily  and well if you see the picture of my sweetieboy on my side bar youd know i dont have to fake it , hes awfully handsome and well.... we wont go there.. i just have been lucky ;)  ok so now that ive probably offended someone .. on to what this is really about :)
i made a card.. for 2 challenges.
one from Cupcakecrafts whos theme is pearls and swirls. the swirls are on the papers (dcwv luxury stack)
and the pearls you can see are all over this card.
thh other challenge is over at papertakeweekly.. their theme being faking it..anything faux so i used a fiskars punch on the papers behind the main image, creating faux  lace. i think that counts ;)
be sure to go check out both blogs seethe great dt samples plus check out this weeks prizes.
i used my cricut and wild card (couple) and george ( heart, using the negative space  the positive is on the inside) cartridge   added basic grey opaline pearls and a tiny bit of colorbox fluid chalk
very simple but the papers are so pretty they really make it look like more than 10 minutes was put into it.
so hope you enjoyed and i want to thank ya kindly for stoppin in  i very much appreciate your comments too :)  have a super rest of day :) shelly

crafty creations challenges

happy wednesday! thanks for stopping in to pay me a visit today.
this weeks challenge set for us over at CCC is  coffe/tea. im a tea drinker so thats what i opted for
i used my cricut  as usual.. hey alot of money has gone into my paper supplies machine and carts..so gotta make sure its put to full use :) .. and joys of the season (mugs and steam) Tags bags boxes and more (tea bags)  and jasmine (corners) cartridges.
for the tea bags i cut a tag on ivory cardstock  then just cut  off the bottom to the size i wanted. then i took my colorbox fluid chalk pad (blackbird) and rubbed it a bit  then i cut the same size tag and cut in vellum and adhered that and inked with colorbox  (chestnut roan) fluid chalk pad  added a staple and some string  waaa laa a teabag :) so easy :) i added a couple of buttons and lace  to give it that warm inviting feeling paper is k&co.   so, thanks again for sittin here with me and if youre leaving a comment thank you for that too i love reading them. im off now to blog hop a little  have a super day!  shelly
