happywednesday! i hope you had the most marvelous christmas :)  where did the year go though? geesh.
so.. over at CCC this week Deena chose a new years celebration theme using glitter and at least 2 blingy embellies. be sure to go check and see what the other dt ladies have for you to enjoy.
my mojo is just not right, but i did get inspired by a card by joyce over on the cricut mb..so i thank her for putting a bit of oomph back in me.
for my card i used my cuttlebug for  the wording, swirls and 2 pudgy froggies. i added raindots and pearls (eyes) .
i also used my cricut and paperdolls cart for the other 2 frogs also added pearls for their eyes.
i cheated some an dused paper that already has glitter on it...it was in a pack my daughter gave me for christmas  i know she'll be excited ive already used it.
i added stickles in black diamond to the wording then plopped a few rhinestones. thanks so much for looking have a safe fun new year!  shelly

PaperCutzChallenges #22 edited

happy friday!  hope everyones having a fine day. this week over at PCC mary has chosen the theme of NewYears. be sure to go see the fun samples the rest of the DT ladies have created.
i hopped on over to regina easters Cutting Cafe and picked up this adorable wine bottle and circle sentiments printables ..be sure to check the cafe out.. lots of great printables. youre gonna want them all!
i added the 2110 plus some basic grey pearls on the circle sentiment and inked it with colorbox fluid chalk. tied a lavender polka dot ribbon  onto it. the leaves are cuttlebug and the grapes are from my cricut and paperdolls cartridge.  i inked the bottle with colorbox fluid chalk (chestnut roan) . so very easy! so go on over to the cafe pick yourself up this bottle and create away..what a great  hostess gift to give with a nice bottle of wine :) thanks so much for looking and hope you have a safe happy new year! hugs shelly

ok so....ive been informed that i wrote the wrong year on my tag lol..oh dear i wish i could blame the contents of  a nice bottle of wine but since this girl doesnt drink i gotta blame my own rusty noggin
so.. i fixed the tag, then i just havent been happy with the grapes, so i  used george cartridge and made some ovals , colored them with colorbox fluid chalk and a touch of acrylic paint..and pop dotten them atop the original  grape cut
ill show both sets of pics so you can see the huge  difference a little tweak ot two  makes.

cricut cardz #6

happy wednesday!  are ya ready for christmas yet? :) of course im not :) this is our last challenge for the year over at CCC . ive had so much fun creating for mary and you
i cant wait to see what she  and the rest of the DT has in store for us in 2010!
this weeks theme is to use any cartridge and color but in a new years theme.
my sweetieboy and i met and had our first date on new years eve 2004 ( see his pic on my side bar.. that smile was what i received when i opened my door to him ..now you know why i kept him ;)
so... i made him a new years themed anniversary card. yeah he'll think its as cheesey as im sure you do...and thats ok because i KNOW its cheesey :) sometimes its exactly what i strive for :)
so.. i used my cricut and george (hearts) and stretch your imagination (bell) and beyondbirthdays (happy anniversary) cartridges. i used a gold leafing pen on the ringy part of the bell. added white doodledots with acrylic paint.. oh and ive upgraded from ghetto to just white trash ;).. i quit using a toothpick to make my dots... and now am using my different sized micro and zig pens that have run out of ink ..woo hoo me  the crafty recycler.. ok  seriously im just a tad cheap.. and .. everytime  i  go to purchase something.. i see pretty paper that i MUST have then  i think.. can i save money and just use or keep using  something i already have and the answer is always yes, so to reward myself for saving that money.. i buy that gotta have paper :)
my new years resolution is to stop that silly game i play with my checkbook.. i can already tell you though...i will break that resolution within the first week of the year :) ive done this the past 4 years.. im on a roll :)  i love consistency :) anyway.. on to my card hope you like it :) thanks for stopping by and reading my goofy ramblings :) hope you have a great rest of day :) shelly

Bitten By The Bug

happy monday! this week is our last design for the month of december for BBTB
this week it was heather's turn to choose our challenge. she chose the branch from winterwoodland cartridge. i love birds and nature so this was a fantastic choice to me :)  i made an ornament of sorts this week. be sure to hop on over to bbtb and see what the rest of the dt has sampled up for ya :)
i took a piece of cardboard about 3 1/2 by 4 1/2 inches  and tore the top layer off of it to expose the corrogated part. i ran some colorbox fluid chalk along the edges. then i cut a rectangle from this luscious memorybox paper (dewfrost) . i distressed the edge with my tim holtz edger thingy, and used colorbox fluid chalk along the edges. then adhered it to the cardboard piece.
along with the branch from the ww cart i also used the sweet birdies.
i computer generated the seasons tweetings onto a bitty tag ..yeah cheesy but it always works, right ;)  thats it ..very very easy yet fun and i think it turned out really "tweet"  ;) hope you think so too :)
thank you so very much for stopping by and leaving your wonderful comments they really make me feel good and inspire me greatly
have a super fine rest of day :) shelly

tag ornaments

happy friday :) well one of my favorite places, ellen hutsons in the classroom is doing a fun feminine take off of tim holtzs awesome 12 tags of christmas...be sure to go check out both places  i wish i had an ounce of each of their creativity and talent!  although i love all the tags made, my favorite of the feminine twist happens to be this one from becky olsen (tag # 8) where she painted i utilized my cricut cutting machine instead.
i used tagsbagsboxesandmore tag cut at 6~1/4 inches, then one cut at 4 inches window feature on. i adhered that with popdots. i made a template from the window piece onto the larger tag  and cut a window then added a piece of acetate. i cut the branches from winterwoodland cartridge  large enough so theyd overhang on the back so i could adhere them without glue or tape being seen . i colored them with colorbox fluid chalk (chestnut roan and warm green)  i also used stickles in frosted lace and let that dry before adhering them.  i used that same cartridge for the bird.i then added another piece of acetate so the cuts are sandwiched. i added ribbon and buttons and a $bin noel stamp.
thank you so much for taking the time to check out what i did i wish i could get it photographed better as this is really much prettier in the real .. and be sure to go to in the classroom and tims 12 tags too simply amazing!  hugs  shelly
so you get the idea of the window feature

trying to avoid the glare i laid this down on a white cloth ( you cant see the glue on the top inner edge when its hanging )

Paper Cutz Challenges

happy friday! this week over at PCC  mary set our challenge to be snowflakes or snowmen .. i opted for both as i thought the cuts i used were cute with the sentiment. be sure to stop on by PCC and see what the other DT ladies have come up with plus play along :)
for this  i used my cricut and when it's cold outside cartridge for the snowflakes.. notice the snowmen shapes along the edges of the flakes..cute eh! if theyre hard to see just click on the pics they will enlarge for you.
i added some thick embossing glitter and a touch of irridescent glitter to them. then plopped a  greenish rhinestone in the centers to keep with the green color already on the paper, which is my minds eye. i used foam dimensionals under them also . . i added a couple of StampinUp felt snowflakes too.  the snowmen were just cut out from the pre patterned paper. i hand cut the hills and inked them with colorbox fluid chalk. computer genertated the text which reads snowmen fall from the sky unassembled.
i appreciate you stopping by hope you enjoyed this card :) have a great day and weekend! shelly
