Bittenbythebug2

happy memorial day :)   going  to keep this very short and simple. theres a blog hop going on at BBTB2 so be sure to head there and follow instructions :) good luck!
this week jeri is our hostess and she chose one of my fave cuts from the sweethearts cartridge, bless this nest.
i just made a card with this cut the other day so this time i decided to make an altered frame. i picked this unfinished frame  up from M's for 50 cents (using a coupon.)
i colored it with alcohol inks (lettuce and pearl) . then added robyns nest dewdrops and hearts (from the sweethearts cartridge) and the bless this nest saying. added lace and heart pins a few buttons and Martha Stewart punch butterflies. i used home decor cartridge for the added branches. on the birds nest i added some mossy bits. paper is memory box. i colored the birds in with colorbox fluid chalk.  thanks so much for looking :) remember to honor our fallen soldiers and say a prayer for those we have with us :) be safe.

happy wednesday!  this week over at CCC our theme is sort of a lifes happenings things.. this is where you go with a celebration of accomplishment or  overcoming anything including lifes hurdles.. our sponsor winkwink has given us the choice of a digi to use and i just think this little mouse image is so adorable and sweet. letting someone know youre there for them or knowing someone IS there for you  is rewarding for both people this is another  reason i chose this image. i printed the image twice, cutting the muffin , spoon and jar lid from the second printing and adhering them atop the main image for a little dimension.  my extras are tiny buttons, colorbox fluid chalk and paper is basic grey.  be sure to stop on by ccc and check out what the rest of the DT has created and be sure to play along too you could be our card of the week winner thank you so much for stopping by :)  hope youre week has been good so far :) XXXshelly
i did not do the coloring of images on this winkwink offered this option.. great job they did eh!

creative visons a fairy creative place

happy thursday! well for me bittersweet happy thursday.. as its my last project for creative visions. ive had so much fun playing with lauras stamps. and laura..what a sweetheart  she is and the rest of the DT  chelsea, jen and olga im tellin  ya these are some talented creative ladies who have been an absolute joy to hang with these  past 8 weeks. the time has just flown by! they are so inspiring and encouraging and supportive.. thank you all so much for making this such a wonderful experience!  hope we all can do it again!
my last project is actually dedicated to laura chelsea jen and olga... id love to be able to invite them over for a warm cup of tea.. chat and creativity time!
for my little project i used my favorite set of lauras stamps ( altho i love them ALL )  hello hunny bear. the minute i saw this precious hunny i adored her. she exudes such a warmth and happiness. how can you not smile and feel good with this gal givin ya a grin and wave :)
so.. what i did was take 2 envelopes A2 size and put one flap inside the other. then covered with paper and an ek success  scallop punch  plus added two bee buttons. i paper pieced hunny.

heres the front of the "wallet" or in this case tea bag holder.

now here it is opened. i used my cricut and tagsbagsboxesandmore cartridge for the tags and joys of the season cartridge for the tea cups. all the text on the card is from the hello hunny set as well as the stamped scrolly images on the tags.

and here you can see i also finished off the back.

this was really simple to make  and i really like having the pre~made pockets from the envelopes. this would make a  neat  wallet/coupon holder too. i hope you try one :) thanks so much for hanging out here with me. thank you again laura for asking me to be on your team! see ya on your sketch challenges!! cricutcardzchallenges #24

happy wednesday!  AND A BIG HAPPY 28TH BIRTHDAY TO MY DAUGHTER. this week over at CCC our challenge is to use 3 circles, any cartridges colors etc. be sure when youre done here you fly on over to see what the rest of the dt has circled for ya. and of ocurse play along. for my card  i used george and made 3 circles into buttons ( just used a hole punch to the centers and added twine) , so of course i thought that was a bit of cheating.. so im going with 3 types of circles.  1) circle buttons 2( patterned background paper and 3 ) the circles in the centers of the flowers. i feel much better now :)  the cute little bees are cuttlebug. i cut out a couple of the flowers from the prepatterned paper , which by the way is basic grey, and used a foam diminsional to give them some pop, did the same with the bees and the buttons. that it. way easy but a cute lil card i think :) thanks so much for buzzin by see ya tomorrow with another post. have a great rest of day ..gotta get to that lasagne my girl requested for dinner. ( made her an apple caramel cheesecake too..yummo!!! )XXXshelly

creative visions a fairy creative place tutorial

happy monday! hope you had a super mothers day :) i sure did. spent time with my daughter and my mom, plus my younger brother step dad and my sweetieboy :) my mom requested i make chinese food so i did. just a fun time :) sooo....
this week its my turn at creative visions a fairy creative place  to offer a tutorial.
i found this neat technique that i am having sooooo much fun with over on SCS. its called crayon resist.
you just stamp an image onto a neutral  cardstock, color the image  if you want to. i just used a stamp marker on mine. the stamps are from a time for prayer (flowers/swirleys)  and hello hunny ( sentiment) sets. they can be purchased here . take a white crayon and color in any parts you want to remain white AND over your ink if you colored in your image. next , you take a sponge and sponge on some background color. i used SU yoyo yellow ( very lightly) and bordering blue.  now take a paper towel and buff  over your image and then the entire piece of cardstock. thats it youre done . isnt that a neat effect! so i hope ive inspired you to try this  as beate did me from scs :)
the extras on my card are basic grey opaline pearls, papers are su  and prima . i also added a dab of stickkles to the centers of the flowers. my pictures arentt he best .sorry about that. not a good lighting day for photos here. hope the rest of your day goes good and let me know if you try this :) id love to see and get other ideas :) XXXshelly

BittenByTheBug2

happy monday! i sure hope you had a fabulous mothers day! this week over at BBTB2  our theme is any tag from tagsbagsboxesandmore PLUS peggylovesvintage is our awesome sponsor. she so graciously has given the DT  a few images to work with. so be sure to go see what the rest of the dt has chosen and created for you. and be sure to head on over to peggys and pick up a few  vintage images shes got some great stuff!
i need to get a few fathers day cards made so was really excited to see this image as one of our choices. i printed the  seagull in the front  2 more times and layered them . hard to see in the  pic but in the real it gives the card a little depth. i used beyond birthdays for the word dad. so ...where are those tags....well i wanted a weathered look to the card so i crumpled up some su cardstock in barely banana ( love this color!) then added some colorbox fluid chalk ( creamy brown) . in the real it looks alot like leather which was cool because i thought it gave this a book sort of look..so i cut 3 tags from page 87 of the manual at 1 at 2~3/4 and  2 at1~1/4 inches.. i added 2 to the left side and one to the right center
i though this helped look more like an old seafarers log book. i added some colorbox fluid chalk  and then used a gold leaf pen on them. the larger one i added a brad . all cardstock is Stampin up.
thanks so much for stopping by to have a look and all comments are so appreciated :) have a great rest of day! XXXshelly
