papercutz banner challenge

happy friday :) this week over at PCC our challenge is to use a banner. i wasnt thrilled with the first card i made so i made 2 for this week . be sure to head on over to the PCC blog and see what the rest of the DT has created this week and of course join in with us :)
for the first card i  cut some circles in half and added hearts and flowers from my cricut and accent essentials cartridge. easy easy but like i said not thrilled with it...so....
my second card i used my cricut and tagsbagsandmore cart for some tags, i added hearts from the same cart. and adhered to hemp for a banner. i used some paper raffia for "ribbon" and added a cute pink button. the wording is a SU stamp.  i also created a scallop using circles tossed on a few pearls inked up with colorbox fluid chalk. paper is tim holtz. i am so in love with this paper pack i have to sort of hide it from myself so i dont use it on every card i make :)
thanks so much for hanging out with me for a few i love when you visit :) as always your comments make me smile big time.  have a crafty day :) XXXshelly

pear tree designs

happy thursday :) i stumbled across a challenge site i thought id share. their theme this week is based on a sketch so be sure to go on over to pear tree designs and check them out :)  its always fun to play along with a challenge.
for my entry i made a guy card  can be used for b/day fathers day , whatever HIS day may be.
for this  the stamped image was stamped and colored by one of my favorite crafty buds robin . i saw a card she made on her blog and HAD to have this image. so i asked if shed stamp and color it for me. i wish you could see this one in person, she used a glaze in the windows and on the tail  light. i could not capture this in my photos but the effect is so cool. she did a fab job and i appreciate her sending these to me.  thank you robin!!!
the only thing i did to the image was ink around the outer sides with colorbox fluid chalk. again, ALL coloring of the image and the dirt under the truck was done by robin. <~~ click to see her card using the stamp)

heres the details on my card
stamped image (robin used her copics for coloring ): great impressions
colorbox fluid chalk
robyns nest dew drops
paper : DCWV (rustic stack)
thanks so much for taking a peek and your comments make me smile thank you for that :)

whimsical wednesday tag it challenge

happy wednesday :)  this weeks fun challenge over at WW is make a tag with some bling.  be sure to go check out the creative DT samples, that always helps greatly if youre challenged in any way. thank you ladies at WW!!!!
as you know im not a bling~ a ~ding kinda chick so that was the challenge part for me :)
so for my lil creation i made a tag using my cricut and tagsbagsboxes (scalloped tag),accent essentials (heart) and beyond birthdays (iloveyou) and jasmine (corners). i used regular and blackout or shadow features on the cuts).
the b/fly is a stamped image.
for the bling i added pink rhinestones and stickles (thistle, black diamond  ( heart and tag)and crystal(b/fly)
i also HAD to add some more  shabby to this, i think the black shadow already does that but i also distressed a lil eensie teeny tiny bit with blackbird colorbox fluid chalk. i also added a bit of black and pink ribbon. ill either add this to my daughters scrapbook or my fuzzypunk (kittycat) emilies' page. i sure love them both oodles! im a lucky mommy indeed.
thanks so much for hangin with me today hope your having a fun crafty day.. the luxury of me working from home for myself when i say its craft time it is  :) xxxshelly

cricutcardzchallenges

happy wednesday :) this week over at CCC jeri has chosen our challenge to be graduation.  hope you play along with us .
i chose to make a tag that i made a pocket on the back to add a gift card.
i used from my kitchen cartridge for the index card and wild card for the hat and diploma. i used thick glue dots for added dimension under the hat and diploma.  i inked the card up with tim holtz distress stains and ink pads. ( wild honey, vintage photo and fired brick.)  i received a card with this sentiment on it awhile back and thought it fit for the occasion.
thanks so much for stopping by as always your comments are truly appreciated. :) have a crafty day :) xxxshelly

BittenByTheBug2

happy monday :) this week  at BBTB2 our incredibly talented and ever so sweet donna has chosen our theme..the flying bird from the floral embellished cartridge. like me, if you dont own this cart dont fret.. just use another bird from another cart.
for my project i made a rustic type of ornament. i hang a few wreaths every christmas and embellish them with hand made items like this that i make.
i cut a piece of cardboard and colored with tim holtz distress stains (wild honey and vintage photo) i added distress stickles (wild honey and rock candy)  i then hand drew a tree branch on cardboard and cut it out. i colored it in with the distress stains (walnut and wild honey)  i then added martha stewart punch branches, and added liquid applique and heated. i pop dotted the branch and weaved thread through it. the birds i cut from beyond birthdays. ( i just snipped the branches from their beaks) the star i cut using george cartridge. i added 7 gypsies seam binding for the hanger and distressed the edges of the cardboard a bit. added color box fluid chalk. the joy stamp is one of those michales $bin goodies.  seriously this was really super easy to make, hope ive inspired you to make one :) let me know if you do id love to have a look on your take :)  thanks for stopping by my blog have a great day :) xxxshelly

it was really hard to get a good upclose of this to show the liquid applique and the little sparkle of the distress stickles.maybe try clicking the pic to enlarge it will help.

the kraft journal challenge

whimsical wednesdays back to basics challenge

happy wednesday :) today over at WWC their fun challenge is to make a card or project NOT using our cricuts...WHAT THE HECK is stephanie thinking! no cricut..  now how  am i supposed to do this!!!! ;) lol. geesh remember the old days when we just used paper and stamps...when i first started making cards i didnt own an embellishment let alone fabulous papers ..and ink, was for stamping not shading and making things pop. and i had no idea what a foam dimensional or glue dot was. once i saw the cricut oh i knew i just HAD to have it. boy what ever would i do without my marvelous machine :) i guess cut and paste like i just did with these 2 baby cards i made :) so thank goodness for cute cute paper too :)
for my card i used SU cardstock for the base of the cards. my paper is by prima so cute line. i cut out the animals and the panels from the pre~patterned paper and adhered the animals with foam dimensionals   . added  a couple stamp sayings and  buttons. bada~bing  done ;)  thanks so much for stopping by have a crafty day :) xxxshelly

whimsical wednesday challenge in shape

happy friday :) this weeks challenge over at WW is to make a shaped card. be sure to go see what the DT has created, you wont be disappointed they are so talented!
for my card i used a childs year. i cut the teapot 3 times (2 times in ivory cardstock). (tag feature, at 6 inches) the first cut is the card base, the 2nd is the designer paper and the third cut was so i could cut off the top of the tea pot because i didnt like the look of the entire teapot with the same paper it was just too much pattern. make sense? ;)  i also didnt care for the squared off top so i used a circle punch, punched 2, then adhered them to the front and back right over the squared part.
for the cup i used the card feature . i inked the entire thing up with colorbox fluid chalk. i also added in some lines etc . i adhered it to the teapot using foam deminsionals. this cartridge is all silhouettes so you gotta add that doodling :) anyway this was super super easy. and the card stands up perfectly. no rolling sideways all wonky without any adjustments! woo hoo!
thanks so much for stopping by today have a great one :) xxxshelly
