we were supposed to use the watermelon cut from stretch your imagination but somehow i read that as doodlecharms???  so..instead of redoing i just stuck with doodlecharms . if you dont have the stretch cart its all good use whatever watermelon cut you have its all about creating and fun at bbtb2. you still get counted for participating :)

what i did this week was make a couple little notecards. i made 4 of  each. 

i already mentioned i used doodlecharms, one card regular cut the other i used the border feature. 

added cloud 9 raindots, colorbox fluidchalk, buttons, twine,foam dimensionals and on one the cutest ever teensie clothespin. paper is dcwv and paperstudio that i sanded. easy but cute eh :)

happy friday :) this week our theme  is a color challenge. use ONLY  pink, orange and white. a tiny bit of black can also be used. be sure to pop on over to PCC and see what my awesome DT sisters  have made for us :)

also july 1st were having a star spangled blog hop you wont want to miss :)

for my card this week i used my cricut and owl from give a hoot cartridge. isnt she sweet! i love the flower shaped eyes and her wings. cute cute cute. i added acrylic paint dots all over and black pearls for her eye centers. i used sizzix for corners. paper is SU. the inside of the card reads youre a hoot .

i want to thank my best buddy rose ..i havent been posting much i know, i have ideas just my getting in gear has been lost lately.  she gave me a much needed mini vacation at her lovely home. we had some much needed retail therapy and gab fest. i got to meet her sweet as ever  mom  and i owe her fabulous hubby some special brownies or something yummy for letting me intrude and stealing roses' time away from him. thank you soooooooo much rick you are a gem  :)  extra pets to precious and q. precious wasnt happy i was there, i think came out of her hiding place twice  noticed i was still there, sighed and scooted off again  lol. q put up with me, he allowed me to pet him, but was not happy that i took moms time away. beautiful kittys for sure either way :) i sure miss my own fuzzypunks though!

ok enough of that  eh :) .. heres my card :)

happy wednesday :) this week over at CCC  our awesome jeri has chosen the challenge to be red white and blue with a flag. be sure to go see what the rest of the dt has created for us and be sure to play along :) we love to see your projects.

for this challenge i made a flag using corragated cardboard.

i roughly painted it up using white acrylic paint, then adding tim holtz distress inks in fired brick and to lighten the white a bit for that rustic look i love  i used vintage photo. i added fired brick distress stickles to the red. 

for the base under the stars i used a piece of cardboard inked with prussian blue colorbox fluid chalk. i used the same ink on the stars and chestnut roan then added stormy sky and rock candy distress stickles. the stars were cut using GEORGE cartridge. 

for the dog tag i used BASE CAMP . i colored that with tim holtz distress stain in weathered wood and used blackbird colorbox fluid chalk. then added distress stickles in pumice stone .i added a chain, then glued that to the flag. 

the children image is cut from A CHILDS YEAR cartridge.

 i added hemp for hanging.  it measures about 5 length X4 width.

i am so honored to be invited to be guest designer for monique and wendy  over at monique griffiths designs for the month of june. i havent had the pleasure of meeting these ladies ..YET.. we live about 2 hours apart so one day soon im positive. :)

for my project i made a card which is what i usually post here. i do scrapbooking i just dont normally post those because i add the pictures as i go and  i wear my heart on my sleeve so i  dont often share the way personal stuff :)  i made this with all of us in mind as sometimes we live for others and forget about our own dreams  hopes and aspirations. NEVER let yourself get so lost in someone else you lose yourself..

so.. on to my little card 

 

 i used my cricut of course ;)

the cartridges i used:  walk in my garden for the caterpillar, doodle charms for the jar and zoobaloo for the branches. 

wimg and dc were the first image  cartridges i purchased and they still after all these years are my favorite go to cartridges. 

the butterflies are a stamp, stamped to the b/g paper first then again stamped and cut then adhered the centers only so the butterflies are free to flit their wings ;)  i colored them in with colorbox fluid chalk and then added a bit of diamond stickles to them for extra prettiness. 

i added foam stickies under the jar and also only adhered the top and bottom of one of the branches, bending it slightly for depth. ( pic 3 shows this) 

i computer generated the text and used a MS border punch . 

i used SU cardstock for the base of the card and the punched part.

the beautiful b/g paper is by memorybox. i added buttercup liquid  pearls to the center of the flowers.

the kraft journal fathers day challenge

happy monday :) this weeks theme at TKJ is fathers' day. this ones really hard for me as my dad passed away november 6th 2010 so dealing with this being the first dads day and not being able to call him and talk to him is a hard thing . anyway...

for this card

 the products i used from the kraftoutlet include kraft cardstock for the base of the card, twill ribbon and brown bakers twine

i used my cricut and plantin cartridge for the word dad. 

someone who asked me to make them a card had the  text written down i dont know if she made it up herself or if she saw it on a card or stamp. if you recognize it as a stamp   let me know and ill give the credit where its do

other supplies: brads, buttons ,colorbox fluid chalk, ivory cardstock SU cardstock ( expresso) coredinations cardstock.

PaperCutzChallenges

happy friday :)  this weeks theme over at PCC is anything goes with a twist..the twist being using the colors pink, black and white only. doesnt mary always choose the most fun challenges :)  be sure to check out what the rest of my DT sisters have come up with  AND play along . i cant wait to see what you come up with using a couple of my fave colors :)

for my card i used circle punches for the flower, corners and border along the bottom. martha stewart punch for the b/flies. the flower leaves i cut from felt. i inked a tiny bit with colorbox fluid chalk . paper is making memories (savannah line)  and the sentiment is from clearvisons (there's link on my sidebar) thats it , an easy peasy get well card :) thanks so much for having  a peek and your comments make me smile. have a great weekend! xxxshelly

whimsical wednesday challenge

happy thursday :) this week over at WW stephanie and the gals have challenged us with a fathers day project.be sure to go check out their awesome as always projects :)

  this is my first fathers' day since my dad passed , so another difficult one.  last year the man that was supposed to be my father in law passed right before fathers day .. life so sucks it big time sometimes eh! anyway..

for my card i created a tic tac toe game piece ( this is really cute all lovied up too using hearts and x's and o's ) ..i used my cricut and george cartridge for the stars and dad cuts. added buttons inked some twill ribbon with black ink and tim holtz fired brick distress ink. i stapled it to the game piece hard to see  i should have used a different color staple probably. oh well ;)   i also hand drew the lines with  black with ink then used fired brick and a q-tip to add the red lines. distressed with colorbox fluid chalk. you know how i love the vintage look. did a little doodling and computer generated the text. just a nice simple dads day thing :) hope ya like it :) thanks so much for stopping by and your kind words bring me joy :) have a great day :) xxxshelly

i made a very simple card

i used the sweethearts cartridge for the hearts. i put the top heart thru my cuttlebug using the birds folder. i inked that and the entire card/paper with tim holtz distress ink ,vintage photo. i added memorybox pearls and a ribbon. foam adhesives were used under the heart and sentiment for dimension. computer generated best wishes and used basic grey opaline pearls. paper is k&Co blue awning. thank you so much for hanging out here with me today i enjoy your company :) have a great crafty day :) xxxshelly

happy monday :) its my turn to host over at BBTB2 this week. i chose the cloud from pooh and friends cartridge. of course if you dont own this cart any cloud will do.  be sure to pop on my and check out the projects from the rest of the fabulous DT. what great talent they are eh?!! and be sure to play along with us. its always so much fun to check out your blogs and see your takes on the weekly challenges too.

i kept my cards really simple. just added the clouds, inked them slightly and added tim holtz rock candy distress stickles. a couple of buttons  stamped sentiment from 40:31 creations stamps. the inside reads a baby is gods opinion that the world should go on . its from the same stamp set. hope your having some fun crafty time today :) xxxshelly

the kraft journal

happy monday:) this week over at TKJ the theme is a guy thing.. i picked up a bunch of the cutest little prima stamps and have been just wanting to use this precious boy. does he not have the sweetest lil smirky smile.  these stamps are really inexpensive, like under 2 dollars and they are a nice size and stamp out like magic. LOVE them! as you know im not a stamper by nature but oh my  i keep finding excuses to always pull these out and use them :)  i stamped the boy and tacklebox using buff colored cardstock.  then cut out . i hand cut the cliff hes sitting on and made a little grass. then i adhered the cut out image so hed be sitting fishing over the edge. for the fishies i used my cricut and camp out cartridge.for the water i just used decorative edged scissors.  the base of the card is light kraft cardstock ( all the kraft c/stock i use  can be purchased at the kraft outlet) i also added a glassine lunch bag bags (again purchase from the kraft outlet) . i added stamps by creative visions and tucked some yummy sour worms in the brown bag and gold fish in the glassine bags. then stapled them shut. thanks so much for hanging out with me i love your company and you sweet words make me smile :) have a great day xxxshelly

papercutz challenges/ life can be a beach

happy friday :) as were sitting here now  ive been in reno nevada for 2 days.. 3 more to go. hope i come back ahead :) send me good luck :)

this weeks challenge over at PCC is beach related or travel. i chose beach . i picked up some adorable as ever prima stamps and have been just wanting to use this lil beach babe. i was so excited when mary let us know the theme :)

i paper pieced her bucket, sandcastle and seashells (pop dotted the shells) i also added a little extra sand hills. i dabbed on a little bit of stickles to the seashells  and the sun, which i cut using my cricut and doodlecharms cartridge. inked paper edges with colorbox fluid chalk. paper is prima. thanks so much for stopping by my blog and extra thanks if youre sending me that luck ;) dont forget to stop by the PCC blog and check out the rest of the dts work. i have to wait until i get back home to check that myself :)  have a great day and fun weekend :) xxxshelly
