happy monday ! sure hope your holidays were fun festive and safe :)
so did ya miss us over at the bug2? although we all enjoyed our time off were also glad to be back in our craft caves creating away for you :)
to start off the year our theme is snowflakes..i love snow, huge beautiful flakes and snowmen :)
i made an ornament, but didnt have a chance to use it so its tucked away snuggly for next year :)
be sure to check out the gorgeous flakes from the rest of the fabulous design team over at BBTB2
im entering this over at dl.art for dianas fun linky party.
for this i used "when its cold outside" cartridge. i took a coaster and covered it with a paper doily then the flake cut. i added some rhinestones for pretty sparkle.
for the cute lil snowman i used some sparkly styrofoam balls i found at hobby lobby. i used a sharpie for his eyes and mouth, a piece of raffia (rolled in glue so it would harden and stay straight) and some cord that i unraveled a bit for his scarf and broke pieces off a craft pick for his arms.
thats it easy peasy :)
when i hot glued him on i didnt have the coaster set just right so my snowman is kind of looking up but thats ok ill put him on the tree near a light so he can be looking up at that ;) ill just say that was the intent when i made it ;)
thanks a million for stopping by today hope you enjoyed my project. your comments always make me smile thank you for that :) go get crafty now :) and have a great day :)xxxshelly

popsicle stick trees
happy wednesday :)
i made a cute little winter scene that im entering into a couple of challenges
DLART: dianas having a fun linky party going on this month
paperplaytime:winterfun
kaboodledoodles:christmas/holidays anything goes
scrappymomstamps:christmas anything goes
celebrate the occasion: anything goes
divasbydesign:anything goes
wordartwednesday:anything goes
more than favors:christmas
decorate to celebrate :christmas
i hope you like my project :)
for this i used popsicle sticks for the trees, i used distress stains on them and added droplets from viva decor pearl pens. you could also use acrylic paints in any colors. say pink, and green whimsy colors it just depends on the look you like. i prefer rustic but theyre really cute in any colors really. i used a wooden craft spool for the base of the trees i used a hot glue gun and glued a p/stick to it then cut and glued the others. if you find your cut ones are a little sharp just sand them down a tad. i hot glued moss around the top of the spools.
for the base i used a coaster. i mixed some chunky glitter with sno-tex and plopped it on. i also dropped on some pieces of moss and some little glittery balls ( found in the christmas section at hobby lobby)
i used a punch for the snowflakes. i also added a little chunky glitter to the trees. the stars are wooden pieces i also colored with distress stains.i used 2 for each tree just hot gluing them to the front and back of p/sticks.
for the snowman i again used the glittery balls. for eyes and mouth i used a sharpie and for the nose i used a piece of crinkle ribbon. i rubbed it with my glue stick then rolled it to the shape and hot glued it on. for his arms i took a piece of hemp, rolled them in glue so they harden and keep their shape then hot glued them on.
thanks for stopping by my blog today and your sweet words always make me smile thank you so very much for that. have a fun crafty day! xxxshelly

whimsical wednesdays home for the holidays
our sponsor this week once again is our ever generous NANNE who is offering up some websters scrap supplies. how sweet eh!
ive made a couple of things so this is going to be a bit picture heavy :)
for this super easy and inexpensive home decoration i took a small grapevine wreath ( about 50 cents at michaels) and added some plastic clear facets , pearls and paper flowers and punched some branches from a MS punch.
these facets were clear, to color them i added them to a plastic baggie added a couple drops of alcohol inks, smooshed them around a bit let them dry and waahoo, gorgeous color :) i added some glitz to the branches using my viva decor glitter writer. what i like about this compared to stickles is the gel liner dries raised where stickles dry flat.
i added some chunky glitter to the flowers but im not sure you can see that from this photo, in the real its pretty just a bit of sparkle.
i covered a 4 inch coaster with paper, behind it i attached some lace that i distressed a little with distress stain. for the candle i used my cricut and joys of the season cartridge. i applied viva decor glass effects over it. for the berries i used cloud 9 raindots. the stamp is from stepahnies set called snow much fun. you can see the entire set plus other sets ~>here<~
for my next projects i made these fantastic treat boxes that i cased from jayne over at jaynes designs.for the exact instructions head on over to her blog you will see a link up to her boxes on her side bar. just click on the pic and it will take you right to them. be sure to check out her entire blog though , youre jaw will just *hit~ the~ floor* she is soooo talented! thank you so much jayne for your inspiration and allowing me to copy and post the cutest boxes ever!
first heres santa
see that sweet little stamp its from the snow much fun set too. in fact all the stamps on todays projects are stephanies.
a bit blurry huh...sorry about that. i love that her stamps are clear type so you can shape them some. i colored the leaves in with marker then added viva decor pearl pen for berries. i added a tad bit of liquid applique ( didnt heat it) to the tops of the marshmallows.
and last but not least mr snowman and his flakey friend ( from snow much fun stamp set)
i added some chunky glitter to him and stickles to little flakey
another stamp from the let it snow set thanks so much for sticking by my side with this long post :) dont forget to head on over to see the rest of the WW DT projects and go give jayne some blog luv too for being so kind to post exact directions on these fabulous and easy treat boxes! thank you bunches again sweet jayne. as always your kind comments leave me with a warm heart, thanks for that! xxx shelly
