my cricut craft room my mind can design monday

happy monday!
this is my Design Team post for My Cricut Craft Room. todays theme at MCCR is a childs theme with a twist. use a child cartridge the twist is NOT make a child's card or project.
im super excited as this is my first post being on the DT thank you erica for inviting me :)
i sort of followed the rules ;)  my daughter who just turned 31 has embarked on a new phase of her life. She started massage therapy school ( YAY!!!)  and said she was going to make a little cold kit to bring to class so she always has a couple of supplies handy. i saw this cute travel tissue holder that ive wanted to try out so i figured what a perfect opportunity :) i know she's just going to love this.

instead of writing out directions since im a visual person, i'll give you the link that i used. it's an easy tutorial from ~> kimber creations<~ .it's made from one piece of cardstock. i love these kinds of projects :)  How perfect is sneezy for this :) i cut him at 4 inches.

in kimber's tutorial she used an oval punch which i dont own so instead i used a 1~3/4 inch stampin up circle punch. then i stamped the sentiment onto the circle that cut out. hate to waste :)

ive seen where you can add some ribbon under your paper to help this stay closed but i like using velcro dots i found at joanns.

To see more projects like this today please visit My Cricut Craft Room
thanks so much for the visit your sweet comments make me smile, thank you for that too :) have a great rest of day and happy crafting! xxxshelly

pass it along with bitten by the bug 2

happy monday!! this week over at bbtb2 our sweet sarah has chosen for us to make a card or project to pass along and make someones day :)  use any cart etc on this one :)
be sure to check out the rest of the dts fantastic projects and be sure to join us we love when you do!

heres my project

to make this i found an old bottle lid and wanted to see what i could do with it. some little unfinished wooden spindels and dowel caps  i found at hobby lobby. i glued 2 together and painted them with acrylic paint.
i filled a bottle cap with dimensional mod podge that i added a drop of alcohol ink to.
i added some moss, twigs and teensie flowers. i used my cricut and happily ever after cartridge for the birds. for the sentiment i used a stamp from mary, of cardztv "simply sad" set.  my printer died an untimely and inconvenient death so  i used my own chicken scratch on the tag.
i thought it would be fun to have the recipient keep this a week then pass it and the envie along. in the envie just add a nice tea (which i did) or piece of yummy chocolate, whatever, then maybe each recipient adding their name either tucked inside or written on outside of the back of the envelope, just let the birdies migrate all over :)
well thanks for putting up with my rambling :) your sweet words always make me smile thanks for that! dont forget to come play along with us at the bug2 :) happy crafting!xxxshelly

scarecrow and pumpkins

happy tuesday :)i made this for a couple of card challenges
just us girls whos theme is color inspiration ( pumpkin, kraft, baja blue and rust)
and little scrap pieces whos theme is real or faux stitching.
and DLART whos having a linky party this month. she has an awesome giveaway so check that out.

i used baja breeze for the hat and shirt. his overalls have rust in them, the pumpkins are well pumpkin ;) and i used kraft for the base of my card. for the stiching i used my signo gel pen
ill probably toss this one to my daughter so i just hand wrote happy fall. normally id stamp or computer generate. i cut the scarecrow with my cricut and simply charmed cartridge.  i added some fluttering by leaves. which were cut from pooh and friends cart.
the pumpkins here are from pooh and friends. the ones on the right with the vines are from happily ever after cart.the corn stalks are from paper dolls.
i added dmx memory thread for the springy things.and inked here and there with colorbox fluid chalk.

thanks so much for stopping by my blog :) your comments always make me smile :) thank you for that :) happy crafting! xxxshelly

jaq and gus doing the happy dance

happy tuesday :) thias is for paperplaytime whos challenge this week is anything goes. be sure to check them out im sure theyd like it if you played along too :)
ive been playing with my neglected disney cartridges
heres the two cutest mice jaq and gus (from cinderella)  doing the happy dance. arent they just adorable :) my daycare girlie chose them as our cut.
i added cloud nine raindots and the sentiment is from whimsical designs everyday sentiments stamp set.
a super simple card.because of the small pieces you have to cut these out larger ( i used 4 inches i think on these for an a2 sized card) so that doesnt leave room for layering different papers or  adding too many embellies.
anyway, hope youve enjoyed jaq and gus thanks a million for stopping by my blog your comments always make me smile, thank you for that! xxxshelly

whimsical wednesdays colors of love challenge #42

happy wednesday :) this weeks theme at WW is using red white and one other color of our choice.be sure to check out  the rest of the dts awesome projects.
i have such a difficult time with the colors  red and white for some reason. i like the look when i see others use these colors but when i try im sooo dissatisfied with the outcome. do you have a color you just cant seem to work with too?
for this weeks card i first had decided to go pink as my extra, ya know with all the love stuff floatin around . but just couldnt get my crafty groove on still then decided hey now black is a good color that goes with everything and its one of my favorites.so thats what i went with on my card.

for the hearts i used my cricut and happily ever after cartridge. i added distress stickles (fired brick) to them.
the sentiment is from stephs set called with love

thanks so much for sharing some of your time with me today. i really love our visits :) i also love your sweet comments they always leave me with a smile . thank you so much for that :)
have an awesome rest of day and be sure to put your crafty mitts on and join us this week at WW :)

whimsical designs winter fun

happy wednesday :) this week over at WD stephanie has challenged us to create a card or project or scrap page that is winter themed with sparkly. you can use stickles, glimmer mists or glitter etc or you can add a pre~made embelli..anything as long as it sparkles :)
be sure to check out the rest of the DT creations you'll be amazed again this week with their awesome projects!

we  have 2 sponsors this week
our very own awesome nanne has a beautiful package of  webster scrap supplie
AND
our sweet  digi queen cindy is offering up three of her adorable digi stamps.
what awesomness!  good luck to you :)

for this i used my cricut and doodle charms (snowman) and happily ever after (snowball pail) cartridges. i added stickles to them.    the ever cute snowflakes are from stepahnies brand spankin new  stamp set called snow much fun.
you can pic this set plus 3 other fun sets up ~>here<~. don't you like how easy i just made your shopping experience ;)

is that snowflake adorable!  i used my 1 inch circle punch  for them then inked and added stickles.   the saying on here was computer generated. i used little pompoms for the snowballs and added stickles to them. the snowman has a sign in his hand that says got snow?, hard as i tried i could not get an up close shot of this, probably too much sparkly but if you click on the first photo you can see it much bigger. i added a pom pom for the ball on his hat plus just used the trimmings from another for his hat brim.
i used foam stickies under all the elements for some fun depth

thanks so much for stopping by today hope ive inspired ya somewhat at least :) have a great day! xxxshelly
