this week i chose to use the giraffe image from SKdigis . i just adore the square headed animals sonia has created :) im keeping my post short and simple today :)

whimsical wednesdays "smell the flowers"

happy wednesday :) this week our challenge at WWC is to create a project using flowers. be sure to check out the beautiful projects by the rest of the fabulous dt :) and be sure to share your projects with us we love when you do! i made 4 projects for this so a bit picture heavy post :)

we were offered a chance to use one of SC adorable images so i chose a sweetie named "wispsy" and made 2 cards
the first i did in blues

                                   isnt she pretty :) i colored her in with prismas

 i added stickles and printed her petal skirt again and curled a bit then glued that atop the original image.

     the flowers are a clear stamp from my stash of unknowns i colored them in                                   with distress marker and added rhinestone centers. MS punched butterflies

the sentiment is from whimsical designs with love set. i did a faux embossing technique where you stamp a dark color then a lighter color slightly askew the original stamp. i couldnt capture the look here but its really neat and looks like its embossed.

heres the 2nd card in pink

im not sure which one i like better. this one i printed on a vellum coated atc card and colored in with prismas and gamsol .

again with the petal skirt and stickles. i used a circle punch for the edges of my mats

i took the corners i cut and added them for my corners. this sentiment is from whimsical designs set everyday sentiments 

for my next project i altered a soup can

 i painted the can in white acrylic paint then swiped on some antique gold paint for a shabby look.

i inked up a doily with victorian velvet distress ink and added a whimsical design stamp from the set whimsical fun vol1. the butterfly was created using my cuttlebug

these gorgeous purple flowers are something i picked up from hobby lobby "spare parts". i used my cricut to cut some leaves and added some memory thread. for the sprigs.

for my second project i prettied up a small lunch bag for my moms birthday gift

youre just dying to know whats inside arent ya ;)  its an accessory for her kindle , a little plug that you add to your usb charger so you can charge from a regular home outlet instead of your computer. that way she can charge up at home and at work :) and yep i was nice enough to add in an extra cable for her too.

i used a sentiment from everyday sentiments set. 

and added various stamps in script, dragonflies ad scrolls.the flowers are "spare parts" from hobby lobby.and inked up and also sparingly added some distress stickles.

this week i used the  SKdigi teddy bear in moon .

isnt this sleepin sweetie so precious :) i paper pieced the bear added ribbon and buttons and a stamp for the text. easy easy but oh so cute :)

i used the digi mushroom house for my card ,one of my many favorite skdigis

i colored with distress inks and computer generated the sentiment.

and added stickles on the butterfly wings. isnt that heart doorknob so cute ;)

sketchy friday challenges

happy friday! dealing with another migraine today so im gonna keep this short and simple. for this weeks sketch over at SFC  i made a valentines card

i used the cupids heart digi. i used patterned paper (which doesnt show up in the pics) and added stickles . i used thin foam stickies under the arrow for a little pop and added black diamond stickles which i also added to the chipboard hearts.

i used my cricut and pooh and friends cart for the adorable as ever tigger ( my fave pooh character) topper.

who could say no to that face ;)

                                          i used SKdigis heart dandelion for my card i just love this digi :)
                                  i used my cricut and doodlecharms cartridge for the hearts.

i used some glass effects gel on this but it was kinda runny guess i should have shook the bottle up a tad first ;) so, i ended up just adding some stickles to it which i ended up liking the way the g/effects and stickles muted together. you know im kinda a sloppy crafter :)

the sentiment i computer generated and used an su stamp on  before i remembered a sentiment comes along with this sweet digi. duh me :) i need to organize my digis better.

sketchy friday

happy friday! well i hope youre having lots of fun with us at sketchy fridays! along with sonias great sketches ill be using her digis. i hope i inspire you enough to do the same :) theyre so cute and easy to work with.
im entering this over at dl.art for dianas fun linky party that ends the end of this month. im sure she'd love if you joined in too!

this week i used "tree of hearts" with the fun sketch for the week.

what a super sketch eh, and i just love this digi :)
i paper pieced this, first printing out onto the green paper then the trunk then the hearts. i prefer that to actual coloring most of the time. the cutting is just very relaxing to me.
the sentiment is a stamp from whimsical designs.

SKdigis december linky

happy december 1st :)
this month our theme at SKdigis is christmas. oh and sonia has  the cutest ever holiday themed digis so be sure to head on over to the blog and  see  what amazing cards and projects my super uber talented design team sisters have sampled up!

i made a cute candy bar holder.( regular sized 1.55 oz bar)    this is very easy to make.

for this you need to take a 11~1/2 X 3  inch piece of cardstock. score at 5~1/2 inch and then at 10 inch marks. fold at the score lines. then add adhesive close to the edge up the 2 sides just to where the top flap folds down.thats it, now how easy is that! you can get 4 holders out of one 12X12 piece of cardstock. i added some tape under the front flap to keep it down but you can add a ribbon around it if thats your preference .

then embellish away.  i thought this sentiment of sonias was perfect for this yummy treat and of course i couldnt resist this  sweet little dear from SKdigis to go along with it :)

i just inked his color on with colorbox fluid chalk and used my signo white gel and some googly eyes. i also added a teensy bell . hand cut some snow mounds and added viva decor glitter liner , some punched snowflakes with glitter liner ( subtle so it didnt  show up in pic) and rhinestones. i also used foam stickies under the deer, but glued his feet snow mound since i didnt pop the top layer of the mound. i had a floating deer before i glued his tootsies down :)

for a little inspiration for the hop  i made 2 projects for a friend to wind down after the days are done.

the first one is a small lunch sack i altered.  inside ill add some fudge and a packet of flavored coffee or regular coffee and a bottle of bailys irish creme. yum! 

i used the monthly circles for this. i added the 24th using my cricut and george cartridge. i inked it up and added some sparkle with stickles. i also added a few punched snowflakes sparkling them up also.

i used my cricut and joys of the season for the hat and mitten cuts. 

for my second project 

i also used the monthly circles on this . i printed it directly onto a glassine bag.and  again i used my cricut and george cartridge for the numbers.i added some chunky glitter to the bag and used martha stewart branch punch and viva decor pearl pen for the berries. ill add fresh baked cookies inside the glassine bag when i give it to her :) 

i took a cotton bag and stamped directly onto that also. this stamp is from whimsical designs (theres a link on my sidebar) i attached some pom poms and inside i added a homemade instant cocoa mix and some mini marshmallows. i also coated a plastic spoon with chocolate, wrapped it and tucked it inside. i tied a ribbon and some twine around that. i attached the candy cane to the spoon with a glue dot. super simple little gifts but when you add the right elements or embellies it looks like ya took forever :) it shows the love for sure and thats super important :)
