christmas at bitten by the bug2

happy monday! this week over at bbtb2  its christmas in july and our delightful and incredibly crafty jayne is our hostess. be sure to check out the amazing samples from the rest of my dt crew :) and of course we love when you play along with us too. just be sure to use a cricut cut as your main cut and please no backlinking :)

                         heres a card i made using joys of the season hope you like it :)

i ran my card base through my cuttlebug and added a border punched panel . the snowflakes are from a punch. i added rhinestones in the centers. i also used a border punch for the mounds under the trees. 

the sentiment is a su stamp.

whimsical wednesdays "winter wonderland"

happy wednesday :) this week our challenge over at whimsical wednesdays is to include sparkle and one or more snowflakes on a card or project.
be sure to check out the rest of the dt samples and play along with us we love when you do!

for this i used my cricut and sweethearts cartridge for the stamp shapes. i inked them up a tad and stamped some snowflakes on them. the white snowflakes are a punch i added rhinestones to them. the mitten is an su stamp.

the pretty bow was made using gorgeous  crinkle ribbon and my awesome bow maker from 3girlsjam.i added a pink rhinestone to the center. computer generated the saying.

the bee is a stampendous stamp. i colored them with distress markers

and heres my take

the stamped image is from SU. the b/g dragonflies are inkadinkadoo stamp. i colored it all in with distress ink and added stickles to the hummingbird ( grrr way overboard on that!) and dragonflies wings. the butterflies are MS punch also added stickles to them.for the border along the side i used scraps of paper doilies

whimsical wednesdays bringing out the old challenge #41

happy wednesday :) this week over at WW our challenge is to use something weve bought and havent used in a long time or never have used. i dont buy what i wont use so this one was a task for me at first until i got looking through my stamps, which i dont have many of, and came across the 2 ill show you in a minute. i bought these in 2000 from stampin up. i just HAD to have them thinking id use these lil cuties on every card i made .. guess what.. i have them alright but this is the very FIRST time using them! how ridiculous is that! do you have anything you bought but havent used in this long? im so ashamed of myself.
i should go on a shopping trip to make myself feel better about this :)
so are you ready to see my had to haves.

heres the first

 this cutie is from the set called costume bears. i colored her in with distress ink . i used my blades on my cutter for the b/g papers which are prima and used distress ink on the edges. added some light yellow pearls and   i added distress stickles to her tutu but cant capture them in the photo so well.

the sentiment is from stephs set called whimsical fun vol.1 

heres part 2 of had to have ;) 

now how in the world did i neglect this sweet lil thing.

i colored him in with prisma pencils. added a couple of buttons and a faux corner the nifty papers are 7gypsies.. easy easy :) i think this is a cute guy card.

i stamped directly onto kraft cardstock which i purchased from thekraftoutlet

the stamp i used on this is from a  SU set. i colored in with distress inks. the butterflies are an inkadinkado stamp. i used victorian velvet ink and distress stickles on them.

                                       just  added some basic grey pearls

                                                        for our hop i made a few things to show you ..

                                                                   first i altered a wine bottle

                       i covered it in paper from recollections. and added some webbing for spooky fun.

the label came with the paper pack. im going to give this to my daughter as she is into bats. i know she'll love this :)  the witch/cauldron are a marths stewart punch. i added a few cloud9 raindots  for her bubbly brew.

the kitty is a martha stewart punch also. my daughter also loves kitties.. she has like 50 of them ;)

 

i filled the bottle with jelly beans for show here  but will take them out and add reeses pieces  her favorites :) im sure she'd prefer it filled with wine tho ;)

oh i also used a cut paper doily edge and strung some beads around the neck.
i also added a couple of cuttlebug bats. i just cut 2 of each  and glued wire between the layers.  
super simple but fun to make :)

    next i made a card using stampin up treat cup holders. this is called a slider treat cup card i                                             found the instructions on splitcoaststampers.

                                 i used my cricut and paperdolls cartridge for the large ghost. 
oh i forgot to take a close up of the tab on top...can you see the orange ribbon/brad on top of the card, well that makes it so the recipient can pull that tab up and the candy will slide out of the inside of the card so your cute card doesnt have to be ripped apart .. check out the tute on splitcoast on how to make this . its a whole lot easier than me trying to explain as im a visual person .

      i cut out a few ghosties from the pre~patterned paper and pop dotted them for some ghost depth :)

                      here i used a dollar bin stamp and added some viva decor glitter liner 
heres the inside . this came with the paper pack.

                      then i went ahead and made another card , a spinner card. another for my daughter :)

              oopsie the bats a little hard to see hes really cute.   overcast today i need to 
                  find the right time of day and perfect pic taking spot now that fall is here. 
                                      i added viva decor gel pen to kittys hat and witchy cape.

the kraft journal challenge

happy Memorial Day :)

this weeks theme over at TKJ is memorial day. be sure to stop on by their blog and be sure to stop on by thekraftoutlet (link on my sidebar on on the tkj blog) and pick up some kraft supplies and other goodies :)

i made a card using all kraft cardstock in brown, light brown and buff/ivory .the stars and hearts were cut using my cricut and doodle charms cartridge. used a couple of SU background stamps to make the flag panel and for the word honor i used an autumns leaves alpha set. i used tim holtz distress ink (fired brick) and SU (bordering blue) and colorbox fluid chalk (chestnut roan) for coloring and distressing. added some brads to centers of stars and a lil doodling.hope you have a super day im off to pack as im headed to reno nevada for 5 days :) wish me luck!!!!!!!! thanks for stopping by my blog i appreciate you and your comments are always fun to read :) xxxshelly

papercutz banner challenge

happy friday :) this week over at PCC our challenge is to use a banner. i wasnt thrilled with the first card i made so i made 2 for this week . be sure to head on over to the PCC blog and see what the rest of the DT has created this week and of course join in with us :) 

for the first card i  cut some circles in half and added hearts and flowers from my cricut and accent essentials cartridge. easy easy but like i said not thrilled with it...so....

my second card i used my cricut and tagsbagsandmore cart for some tags, i added hearts from the same cart. and adhered to hemp for a banner. i used some paper raffia for "ribbon" and added a cute pink button. the wording is a SU stamp.  i also created a scallop using circles tossed on a few pearls inked up with colorbox fluid chalk. paper is tim holtz. i am so in love with this paper pack i have to sort of hide it from myself so i dont use it on every card i make :)

happy friday!  hope the week was a good one for ya and your weekend is even a million times better :)

this week over at PCC mary has chosen our theme to use an image of a bunny, chick ,lamb or easter eggs. be sure to check out what the rest of the super talented dt has sampled for you.

for my card i chose a bunny and chicks and eggs using a SU stamp set bunny hugs.i stamped and cut bunnies and chicks a couple of times for a little dimension, plus used foam pops under a couple of the chickies.

i used colorbox fluid chalk for the inking. for the flowers on the b/g panel i used a teensy inkadinkadoo stamp. i added stickles to the centers and hand drew the stems.

for my corners i cut a 1 inch circle and quartered it. added a bit of cotton for the bunny tail. 

for the grass i used my cricut and zoobaloo cartridge. 

the fabulous paper is memorybox.

happy friday :) this week over at PCC  our awesome ringleader mary has chosen our theme to be spring.. YAY for spring :)  be sure to hop on over to the PCC blog to see what lovely spring themed projects the rest of the DT has for us :) be sure to play along too. 

im not a stamper  by nature altho i do own quite a few stamps,  but got these cute cute stamps from SU with their celebration thingy going on. i think these stamps are just adorable as ever :) my cricut machine sat scowling at me so i used it with jasmine cartridge for the corners. i colored the stamps in with prismas, no gamsol just blended the colors with some blending stubs if you know me you know im not about perfection, just about achieving the look i like, which is somewhat messy :) the pretty paper and cardstock  are SU. i added a little colorbox fluid chalk. thanks so much for hangin here, have a marvelous weekend :) xxxshelly

this week over at PCC mary has chosen a theme of  mothers day using a handstamped or digi image . for my card i used a flower from a set of  stampin up stamps  and ink. i just bended with a dove blender pen. paper is also stampin up. i added basic grey opaline pearls and used my cricut and jasmine cartridge for the corners. i sure hope you have a super weekend  thanks so much for stopping by :) XXXshelly

happy friday! hope your week was a good one :) this week over at PCC mary has chosen the theme of anything goes. i needed a card for my mom for her birthday so thats what this card is for. i got the layout idea from ellen hutsons in the classroom. i love this place :)

i used memorybox  gossamer paper, the humming bird stamp is SU i colored with colorbox fluid chalk and added a wee bit of diamond stickles. i used a teensy sprinkle of flowersoft to the inside of the flower.  added a couple of basic grey oplaline pearls and ribbon. i also used martha stewart doily lace punch. thanks so much for taking a peek here have a fun crafty weekend!
