i did the same b/g using white ink. the saying is from snail mail stamp set. i used my cricut and create a critter  for the seal  i made the banner using the banner thingy from the stage just a larger cut.
and for this last one i thought it would be cute to add a little love note for your honey) excuse the tape i just wanted to show it closed so you could see how the heart meets together when closed :) all the images/text on here are from the snail mail set.

next i made a couple of  cards

here i made a mini card using using special delivery from the set

woohoo 3girlsjam guest design spot

happy monday! what a great way im getting to start off my week :)  i nabbed a guest designer spot over at 3girlsjam  yea me!!!!! thank you so very much julie and gang for allowing me to be part of this :) now if you havent been over to 3girls yet be sure to check out the dts amazing projects you will be amazed :)
if you follow me you know my favorite crafty tool is the bow maker from 3girlsjam. i love crinkle ribbon too and let me tell you they have the best! gorgeous colors and just fun to use :) before my bow maker i couldnt tie a pretty bow to save my A$# (hope i havent offended anyone) now i can make not only pretty bows but flowers too. oh yeah! so if you have the same problem get yourself  on over to the shop at 3girls and pick one of these up you will not be sorry i promise!
im entering this over at DLART for dianas february linky party be sure to go show diana your projects i know she;ll be thrilled if you do :)

so.. the challenge today is a 3~D valentines project. i altered an unpainted wood box that i picked up at hobby lobby. i thought id give it to my daughter to put any sweet little notions she gets from her fiance in it :) of course i also added a sweet little note to her from mom :)

first i used distress stains all over the unfinished wood. then painted with white acrylic paint and sanded that after it dried. then i put 2 thick coats of  picket fence distress crackle paint over that. the crack effect didnt show up as much as i wanted so i added some distress inks over it and added some gold acrylic paint too.
i inked and cut a paper doily added some chipboard corners ( because i couldnt find "footings" at hobby lobby, drats!) and martha stewart punch butterflies.
i made these pretty flowers using my fabulous bow maker and crinkle ribbon. dont you just love them!  the purple is a tad darker in the real. i used my viva decor pearl pens for the pearl centers. ( another awesome product) i used my cricut for the leaves and the word love. the word notes is a rub on. added  locket and key charms.
the large butterfly i made using my cuttlebug. i put 2 coatings of utee on it and the word love
thats it, all pretty simple but i like the way it turned out. hope you do too :)

thanks you for stopping by my blog and again a huge thank you to 3girlsjam :) your sweet comments always make me smile, thank you big time for that :) happy crafting!xxxshelly

im entering this over at DLart linky party be sure to go share yourr projects i know diana would just love if you did :)
i decided to go hearts instead of cupid.
i made the flower by cutting several hearts from the  sweethearts cartridge. altho the center one is a scrap leftover i forget which cart.i ran the top layer hearts thru my cuttlebug.
and inked up a bit. i added stickles to the center heart.
the sweet bees are from create a critter.altho you cant tell from the photo,  i added stickles to their wings and gave them googly eyes.
the saying is computer generated.

bittenbythebug2 santa

happy monday! this week over at bbtb2 our sweet and creative brenda is our hostess and has chosen for us a santa cut from any cartridge. be sure to check out the rest of the super fabulous samples from the rest of the dt.
thanks for the fun challenge brenda!

i got the idea for this cute card made by kristen of paper creations by krista, ~>here's <~ her cute card.
i was going to go into design studio and form the stamped shape into the actual card like kristas but i got lazy. i think it still turned out cute. this is my fave santa cut from cricut.
i used doodlecharms for santa. i used c/bug and divine swirls for embossing on him. i used another folder for the b/g paper and sanded it. im not sure what the folder is called as i didnt label my folders. wish i had for referance. i used create a critter for the stamp shape.

i added a few ho's and some colorbox fluid chalk and gold pearls. easy peasy but cute i think :)

thanks so much for stopping by today your sweet words always make me smile thank you for that too :) if i dont see ya before, have a safe and beautiful christmas! xxxshelly

birthday card

happy friday :) heres a birthday card i made.
im entering it into a couple of challenges.
thekraftjournal~CAS
wordartwednesday~anything goes
DLArt~december linky party/anything goes
thepinkelephant~make it girly
sisterhoodofcrafters~embossing
be sure to check them all out im sure theyd just love if you played along with them too :)

i used my cuttelbug for the embossed butterfly. i added some homemade glitzy spritz (spun sugar) some ink and pearls.oopsie theyre a little wonky..i fixed them since :)
heres another embossing technique. you stamp with a light color ( i used SU white) then get a darker color ( i used ranger ink/coffee) and slightly off your stamping. i used my stamp a mah jig when i do this it makes it way easier when using wood stamp.this one is from SU.pretty nifty eh :)
i used another SU stamp for these sweet butterflies then sprayed the upper corner with the glitzyspritz .
thanks a million for visiting today your sweet comments always make me smile thank you for that too :) happy crafting! xxxshelly

i altered a bag that ill be adding homemade peppermint bark to (hence the peppermint candy as sort of a hint of whats inside the bag)

this lovely saying is this weeks freebie from word art wednesday.
i used a cuttlebug die for the shape and put a doily behind it.i also used utee /cracked glass effect. i adhered a magnet to this so the recipient can add it to their collection on their fridge.
the large embossed snowflake is sizzex and the smaller ones are cuttlebug.
i used my cricut and when its cold outside cartridge for this 3/d snowflake , ornament
i added a clothespin drenched in chunky glitter
i added some pretty crinkle ribbon from 3 girlsjam using my most favorite tool from them, the bow maker some memory thread and a homemade pearl hatpin

bbtb2 tree challenge

happy monday! this week over at BBTB2 our UBER creative and lovely AND one of my very favorite designers jayne has chosen our theme. using a tree from any cartridge. make sure to check out the rest of the DT samples and be sure to play along with us we love when you do. just make sure to follow our easy rules, make sure your main image is a cricut cut. and please if you have word verification on to turn it off. my computer doesnt recognize the letters most of the time so i cant comment on your beautiful projects:(     thanks!!!
instead of a card this week i thought id try this nifty little gift/book box. you can google and find directions for this  but i happened upon ~~> this tutorial<~~ and found it very easy to follow.
im entering this over at DLART where the sweet diana is having a fun linky party all this month. im sure shed love for you to play along too.

i made this for my daughter who loves to read and write and loves bats. (she has one tattooed behind her ear)

i used stretch your imagination for the trees.
my daughter actually named the book not knowing its for her or really what i was talking about . its from a song by her favorite band ( the cure)
heres the "book" opened. i added lace/ribbon along the edges.

heres a couple more views to show how i  just glued the trees and bat (cuttlebug) into the folds

and to keep it closed i used some beautiful burgundy crinkle ribbon
thanks so much for stopping by for a visit your sweet words always make me smile thank you for that :) happy crafting!xxxshelly
