crafty creations challenges
happy wednesday ) this week over at CCC the lovely claire has chosen our theme of metal or metal look using one of her oh so cute digi images. she's also sponsoring our challenge this week so be sure to play along.
for my image i chose "tree and stars" from her shop isnt this a sweet tree!
along with her fab image i used my cricut and george cartridge . i cut stars and adhered over her digi image stars. i first took some craft wire ( metal) and wrapped it around the tree then adhered the stars to it. i added some stickles for sparkle. i also used some metal clips for a fun look. i wanted to keep it a whimsy look so i colored the presents kind of messy on purpose..does it look silly? i hope not.
thanks for stopping by today hope you enjoyed and come back often :) xx shelly

being inspired by....
sarah hodgkinson...i always liked coredinations papers but oh man she just has me LOVING them with my cuttlebug! be sure to check out her awesome work using coredinations papers. my card is based on this particular book she made ( its the 6th post from the top on her blog)
for mine i used papers from chocolate box
i used my cricut and doodlecharms for the hearts which i then ran through various cuttlebug folders. then sanded them to show the color undearneath. i popped a couple of them up for dimension. pretty huh! i also used wildcard cartridge for the wording which i tweaked in design studio to get the right fit. and added jasmine corners using memory box paper.
i added a little bit of colorbox fluid chalk and thats it. easy easy but i think it turned out really lovely.
thanks so much for stopping by and more thanks if youre leaving a comment :) dont forget to go check out sarahs blog :) xxx shelly

Paper Cutz Challenges
happy friday! this week over at PCC the challenge is a color theme.. blue green white and black ONLY.
be sure to head on over and see what the rest of the DT gals have put together using these awesome colors!
i used my cricut and winterwoodland cartridge for the word peace.
cuttlbug cut and emboss duo die for the wreath which i sanded and added white pearls to. i pop dotted this .
i used my brand spankin new martha stewart eyelet lace around the page punch set.. that oh boy did i make a steal on this one! there was a 25% off sign by store error still hanging up that the checker didnt want to give me but the store manager said oh yes we HAVE to honor that..i like her! ( they still had their 40% off on cuttlebug too! i had fun fun fun spending..especially since the money was gifted to me for my birthday by my darling sweetieboy) and i had a 50% off coupon...that the register automatically applied to the punch since it was my largest priced purchase ..so for this michales priced punch of $24.99 i actually paid a grand total of $9.37 for this 2 piece set .. can you believe that!
so .. i used the border part on the bottom of my card base and the corner punch on the black paper.
i added a couple of blue hero arts pearls and colorbox fluid chalk. thanks so much for stoppin by and reading my ramblings:) xxxx shelly
