It's Blog Hoppin Time over at Bitten By the Bug!!!!

happy monday!!!!! WooHoo it's Blog Hoppin time over at BBTB !! keep reading and eventually i'll give you all the info on my give~away :)
first , our challenge this week over at the bug was to use our going places cartridge, using the man and woman cut. actually there are 2 cuts i chose the seperate ones, i havent seen what the other DT ladies used i hope i did the right one! lol the lovely gracious regina probably wouldnt tell me any different im sure she just shakes her head at me sometimes ;) i so appreciate her tact with my dorkiness :)
so what i decided to do here was make his and hers page markers. do you and your sweetie sometimes read the same book and that knucklehead..errr, i mean honey of a guy fold the page corner down or fold the page in half! to mark his place (drives me bonkers!!) or forget whos bookmark is whos then you have to re~read to find where you were..... yeah right dear hubby the one with the hearts and ladybugs is yours.. well maybe now he'll have a clue right :)
what i did was use the card feature with this cut (you could just cut a rectangle, total size of this is 4X2 if your just using a regular cutter)
i cut this twice and also blackout feature for the background color so it would be sturdy plus i adhered magnets on the inside between the background color and the inside cardstock layer. that way it snaps shut and is secure. i hope that makes sense :)
for the mans marker i hand~stitched up one side and added the word journey from my graphically speaking cartridge.
for the girly one i used graphically speaking for the word imagine a flourish and a flower. i hand~stitched up the side of this one also i also added tiny butterflies from a martha stewart punch. i also used my colorbox fluid chalk pad (darkbrown)as you know i love my ink :)
ok so heres a couple of pics so you get the idea... AND for the blog hop what i want you to do is leave me a comment telling me who is your favorite author and your favorite book THEN head on over to the beautiful krista's blog ( just click on her name it ill bring you right to her) and oh my if you havent been to her place yet, you are in for some sweetness! her creations are just adorable, her love just shines right on through her work. oh and IF you link my bloghop to your blog let me know i'll enter you twice for the gals that have already commented since i am editing this after theyve already commented, out of fairness i'll be adding them twice also. ok ok enough of my chattering eh :)

now for the goodies! as many of you know regina makes these awesome down loadable stamps on her cuttin cafe shop so this month im offering up 2 of my favorites of hers.. social butterfly , there are 22 images in this set! PLUS to go along with that 4 butterfly background stamps. click here~~> butterfly <~~and then here ~~> background stamps <~~ and you will see exactly what your getting .
i'll use random generator to pick a winner this friday (july 31) good luck to everyone! dont forget to leave your comment and go to kristas blog!! have a super week!!!!!! shelly

Hey Shelly, these are just great. the girl is my favorite. My favorite author is JK Rowling, yes I am a Harry Potter nerd. I think that the 6th book was my favorite, I guess because I knew there was another book. I loved the 7th book too but it was sad because it was the last. I actually got addicted because of my daughter. She wanted to read them when they first came out all those years ago and I wanted to read it to make sure it was suitable for her to read. Been hooked ever since. anyway, great book markers Shelly.

What a clever idea...and they are so cute too; just charming! My favorite book is The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd, but I devour everything by Dominick Dunne:-)

What a creative idea! I am an avid reader, so I love these little bookmarks!! I might have to lift the idea and make my own soon. :)

My favorite author & book...that's a tough one. I guess Mary Higgins Clark would be it if I had to pick one b/c I've read and loved so many of her books. I also love the Outlander books by Diana Gabaldon. We'll say Outlander is my all-time favorite book. :)

Those bookmarks are fabulous!! I should make a bookmark with magnets for my books because my kids are always loosing my place and maybe the magnet would stay put and not fall out very easily. My favorite autor is Jane Austen and my favorite book (one of Jane's books of course) is Pride & Prejudice.

I am a voracious reader... but I prefer good trash over literature!! Nora Roberts and Sandra Brown are favorite authors... but I just finished re-reading all 7 HP books and I do believe all of my true favorites are "childrens' novels"... Heidi and The Little Princess and All-of-a-Kind Family!

Hey Shelly, thanks for sharing. Love the bookmark idea. We don't read the same books. But we do share the readers digest. Which I often have to hunt down! Maybe if I do something like this, I won't have to hunt it down so often! lol
My fave author is probably Anne Perry. But I also love PD James. My current fav is the Harry Potter series. Love her imagination! My all time favorite book is To Kill A Mockingbird.

Great idea to make bookmarks. I don't have to worry about my hubby reading my books but my daughter does with her daughter. Of course Julia's would be the pink one so no sweat.

I LOVE your project, these would make nice gifts for some of my family and firends! My favorite author, I have lots of them, has to be Barbara Benton Frank right now, she just writes a "story" that makes you think and hangs with you for awhile...I like that! And by the way, did you steal my kitties, cuz 3 of the 4 could be mine, no kidding........LOL!!
