very cute card! When we went trick or treating we didn't go out and buy customes like we do for our kids today. We just made our own. Honestly I can't remember what I used to dress up as.

Love your cards, shelly. My favorite costume as a kid was a court jester. My mom made the costume and I won all kinds of contests with it. Well, I'm headed over to Heathers blog....

Adorable card...I love the colors. I really cannot recall a favorite or really any but I do recall one that I absolutely hated. They had come up with these thinks that your aired up (I think it was a spider or pumpkin head) and wore it on the top of your head...absolutely embarrasing.

Hey, Shelly! I love the way you individualized each letter on your card, and how you turned the ribbon into a flower! So creative! I hope you will enter me for the blog candy. My favorite costume for Halloween isn't something I remember other than in a picture...my mom made me Smurfette when I was about 2 or 3 years old, complete with blue skin! I need to find out how she did that actually. Anyway, off to visit the next blog. Thanks!

Very pretty card... My favorite costume as a kid was (warning...this is RANDOM) a firecracker. :) See if you can picture this: a tomato wire cage (with narrowed end cut off), covered in red fabric with arm holes cut in the side. I was a big red cylinder. And to top it off, I had a ponytail on the top of my head with a toilet paper roll over it for the "flame". Oh, and it gets even better...I was on roller skates. A rolling firecracker... :()

You have a great imagination. I never would have thought to turn that cut into a flower. WTG!

My favorite costume was when I was a bag of jellybeans. My parents used a large clear trash bag and filled it with small colored balloons. It was so cute if I do say so myself.

LOVE how you turned your badges into flowers! So FUN! :) My mother made all of our costumes and my Dad (being my mother's sixth child) dressed up and trick-or-treated with me! I had lots of favorites so it's hard to pick just one! Let's see...Dad was a M&M bag and I was a yellow M&M and then another year we were both Hershey Kisses. We were 101 Dalmations one year and he was Doc the dwarf while I was Snow White another year! :) Fun memories!

oh you so tricked me -completely-it was a delayed reaction-oooh I see the badges now! Way cool-kudos to you ; )

I have to say my favorite Halloween costume as a young girl was a dressing up like a baby. I got to wear my footy pajamas in the outdoors. I was warm, cozy and comfortable. This was a cool thing to do at 11yrs old so I repeated it at 12 yrs too! I bet I could still pull that off this year but I promised I would be a girl pirate for my son. He's going to be a pirate, daughter a bat and hubby will be dracula. I love Halloween soooo much-still. I am making her bat costume out of umbrellas! I can't wait to see how it turns out!
tfs!

I LOVE Halloween, but Good Lord Girl, I'm 50 years old. I don't remember my costumes. Although I will tell you my oldest son was Casper the Ghost 3 years in a row!!! (and noooo, we did not reuse the costume, a new one every year)

I LOVE your bright and fun creation ! VERY ingenious using the ribbon and cutting it into flowers !! My fave costume growing up was a clown costume. Mom made it by hand out of some old sheets and did hand-made pom poms down the front. We didn't have a lot of money, but Mom always did her best to make sure we had great costumes ! Very fond memories !
