whimsical wednesday

happy wednesday!!! well this is my first official start of the whimsical wednesday design team woo hoo!!!!!!
this week our challenge is "let's use our scraps". be sure to head on over to the WW blog with me  and lets snoop into the rest of the ladies scrap bins :)  im actually very organized with my stuff, my scraps stay in large ziplock bags by brand and holiday. the holiday stuff is tucked away in a dresser since its not used really otherwise. im a paper lover i have tons  so this just makes it easier for me to get to the everyday paper :).
this week i made a christmas card. yeah i know its way early but last week we had a christmas themed challenge from a different DT im on so it put me in a crafty mood..which is good cuz ive been in such a slump this past year.

first off stephanie asked us to post a pic of the scraps we used.. sorry these pics arent  very good. terrible lighting where im staying right now.

i went with my basic grey scrappys

heres the bag turned over..
heres the scrap pieces i chose:

and heres my card i made out of those scraps

oopsie a lil glue on the bottom there.. ill get that erased off :)

details :  my cricut and winterwoodland cartridge for the deer and noel cuts.
distress stickles ~ rock candy on the blue background paper fired brick on the noel  and stardust stickles on the snowflakes.
snowflakes : marvy punch and $bin stamps
colorbox fluid chalk (chestnut roan) and tim holtz distress inks (weathered wood and fired brick)
cardstock base is SU soft suede.
thanks so much for the visit today hope your weeks been a good one so far. have a crafty rest of day :) xxxshelly

Shelly, you are so organized! My scraps are all thrown in a drawer with zero organization! Your card is beautiful. I love the distressed look and all of the stickles you used. Great use of scraps! Melanie

I am loving that bag of scraps Shelly!! So many pretty papers :) I have to keep my scraps organized too or I go crazy! I use them all the time and I was surprised to learn that so many people don't! Your card is gorgeous! I love the distressing and tearing! I wish I had some of this wintery feeling today when my AC went out on my new van! Great job on your first WW DT project :)

What a great way to organize your scraps. Thanks for sharing that, love it. I don't think it is ever too early to start Christmas cards. I really need to start now!! This one is gorgeous. That deer cut is so elegant. As always your inking is wonderful and adds so much to your card. Love the torn paper look too. Great way to finish if off with the snowflakes. Great job with your first WW challenge..so excited to have you on board.
