polkadoodles sketch 2

happy sunday :) this is for this weeks sketch challenge over at PolkaDoodles

for my card i used my cricut and george (circle) jasmine (corners) and HomeAccents (flourish) cartridges. the pretty lil flowers are prima. the butterflies are Martha Stewart punch, the beautiful paper is K&Co. i also used colorbox chalk pad. thanks so much for stopping by :) shelly

createX3 a memorybox contest

happy wednesday :)
this is for patters contest she has going on.. be sure to check out her sketch challenge plus her give away :) im trying to toss some teen and kid and male cards into my mix... a difficult task for me as i like the more vintage romantic type stuff. so..... for this card i used my cricut and indie art ( flower and butterfly) and storybook (birthday girl) cartridges. i added some rhinestones (still waiting on my memorybox jewels to arrive :) )
and cut the flame from the pre-patterned Memory box glitterati paper and folded the edges a little and adhered that to the cardstock. all the awesome cool paper i used is from memorybox/ glitterati. thanks for having a look :) hugs to you for stopping by :) shelly

PaperBlooms resist emboss

happy wednesday! this week over at PaperBlooms leah had use try a technique called emboss resist. i hope you come on over and join us! i had attempted this only one other time..i used my cricut and home accents cartridge (swirls. the booklet calls them flowers?)
the beautiful lavender bloom was handmade by Leah. the butterflies are a stampabilities (small monarch butterfly C1016) i added basic grey pearls to them. the stamped circle entiment is from SU and the paper is memorybox.

BittenByTheBug bookmark challenge

happy monday :) this week over at BBTB regina challenged us to use the bookmark from our cricut and animal kingdom cartridge. i chose to make a "BOOKmark"
from one of my daycare boys favorite books. he's always wanting to take ours home with him so we decided to make him something he could take home. i didnt add much to it as i figure it will eventually get torn apart.. but the bookmark part still can be used fine if he takes the pages out :)
so..we used my cricut and animal kingdom (bookmark,inside pages and rainbow fish)inde art (starfish) and zoobaloo ( octopus and extra fishys)
extras: rhinestones and $store ribbon. i computer generated the wording. thank you so much for stopping by.. hope you leave a comment as sean (he's 2) will love to hear what you have to say about our project for him. he was quite proud of the bling he added...also was proud AFTER we removed them from my girl kitty and actually adhered them to the book pages ;) gotta love kids:) shelly

PolkaDoodles first sketch!

happy memorial day:) hope everyone had a lovely weekend and took the time to think of our loved ones...who have served or are serving our country. HUG AND THANK A VETERAN or SOLDIER..not just today BUT everyday. and keep in your thoughts those weve lost.
i learned of this brand spankin new challenge blog PolkaDoodle through a sister BBTB DT member enfys ...thank you!! shes a DT member over at PolkaDoodles also... among others.. you probably already know of her just click her name and you'll get right to her funny and wonderful blog. shes a true inspiration to us all.
so this is their fist sketch an i LOVED it.

happy day! this is a fun "hoppy" lil card for this weeks sketch over at CCC i guess i didnt draw this one out too well did i ;) i know to print tese sketches out .. its been a very long 2 weeks with my fatherinlaws medical issues.. so my heads not on quite straight yet.. at least im getting a smidge of my mojo back.. yay!!!!
for this i used my cricut and paperdolls(frog) and plantin (grass) cartridges. the butterflies are from a MS punch. the sweet birdie is a stamp from autumn leaves/mindys zoo. i stamped herX2 cut one out and adhered over the original stamped image. i added rhinestones. thats it :) have a fun rest of day thanks for taking th etime to stop by and extra thanks for leaving a comment which i LOVE to read:) shelly

happy wednesday:) this is for this weeks awesome sketch by dawny over at PTW i really love her sketches. be sure to head on over and check out the creations by the DT. great work as always.
for my take i used my cricut and wild card cartridge for with sympathy.
the bracnch and butterflies are from memorybox. i stamped the butterflies a few extra times then cut out and adhered over the original stamped images. i added some beautiful daffodil colored pearls from memorybox . i also added a tiny bit of stickles ( remember way less is more! ) to the center of the branch blossoms and on the butterflies. the pretty paper is basic grey/ wisteria . thanks so much for stopping by my blog enjoy your day! shelly

this is a card i made not too long ago...the sketch is from cardpositionongsystems.
this weeks challenge at cupcake craft is to make a male or masculine card...
im branching out with this one as i need masculine ,teen and kid cards. all of which i totally stink at....so heres me trying to be cool lol. for this i used my cricut and new indie art (flying v guitar and skull)and printing press, welded the words together with the cricut design studio that was gifted to me for my birthday from an awesome friend named sandi kelly (celticwoman on the cricut mb.) papers are from memorybox. gotta run now....have a super day and thank you for stopping by my blog to play :) hugs shelly

its a memory box contest again!

happy thursday :) this was made for another MemoryBox contest. the winner will receive 100 dollars worth of memory box products of their choice. MemoryBox is my absolute favorite paper brand, they just have the most beautiful designs!
to enter you had to use paper from their fernbrae line, jewels or pearls from their jewel line and a stamp from their new sparkly bird collection.
ive used this gorgeous paper before but this is my first time using their pearls.. i LOVE these! they are small so not bulky , perfect for cardmaking and layouts. and come in the prettiest colors!
this is also the first time i have used one of their stamps.. i am the worlds WORST stamper! but i have to say i will definetly be purchasing more of these stamps! the impression is just marvelous! i barely had to apply pressure to my cardstock...it was the most perfect clean image! it made stamping fun for me instead of the chore i usually find it.
i also used a technique new to me called reverse emboss...lots of firsts on this one!
i stamped the sweet bird image onto fernbrae paper twice, cut the images and adhered over the first stamped image the top layer i used a tiny foam dimensional to give it a little pop.
i cut out a few flowers from the fernbrae paper and placed them over the cream colored image.. and again used a little foam for dimension. i added the pretty daffodil colored pearls to the flower centers.
i used my cricut and jasmine cartridge for the corners.i used part of a SU stamp for the sentiment. my fingers crossed i win this contest :)i love love love their products! have a super day! shelly

paperblooms and this weeks BLOG CANDY

hi all did ya miss me! i know its been a few days since i last updated.we had a family emergency well 2 but one was minor ( thank goodness!)compared to the one involving my sweetieboys father.. all my friends that have sent prayers his way thank you soooooooooooooo much! you all make my heart full with your caring words and thoughts. i know brian and his family appreciate the kindness from you all too.so big huge hugs from all of us to YOU! and an extra hug to regina over at BBTB for being the sweetheart she is and understanding me not being able to get my BBTB work done this week. and leah for letting me slide a bit on this one. im so fortunate to be on these 2 design teams and both my leaders are just warm caring souls.. im so blessed!
so onto what the post is all about...

for my take on this weeks challenge i made a layout of my daughter when she was about 15...so about 12 years ago. . its actually a 2 page layout i just didnt have time with all the unexpected chaos to finish page 2 in time.. when its done ill post it here also. i used my cricut and indie art cartridge. i also used 3 of the same ribbon..added stickles and the way cool paper which my daughter LOVED when i showed her is from glitz design. dont forget to post on paperblooms in fact.. join us every week and be inspired..and inspire US! plus we'll have some goodies each week :) love and hugs! shelly
