the Kraft Journal

happy monday:) this is for this weeks challenge ,which is family inspired, over at the TKJ. im telling ya its the best place to get your kraft papers  etc  at great prices and super fast shipping. plus great inspiration there too.
for my card i used kraft cardstock for the base, the dark brown paper is SU chocolate chip and the green is coordinations which i tore around the top and bottom edges revealing the lighter green core. i added some twill tying tape (purchased from TKJ) along the left edge.
for the leaves i cut them out in ivory cardstock, using my cuttlebug. i inked the color on with colorbox fluid chalk. i use  various colors of  greens, reds and  yellows, just inking until i get the look im satisfied with.  i used a pica micron pen ( from michaels) to add veins to the leaves. then just  bend and roll the leaves  to try to make them look realistic. i adhered two of them with pop dots.
the sentiment is a stamp from creative visions(one family CV0057) i added bakers twine ( purchased from TKJ) and tiny rhinestones. i also used a metal photo turn which i added a felt topped brad to.
thanks so much for stopping in today and as always your comments much appreciated. XXXshelly

What a great card! I love the fall leaves and the natural color palette here. That's by far one of my most favorite looks. You did a great job inking up the leaves and I really like how you used the twill tape on the side. Thanks so much for playing along with us at the Kraft Journal.
